Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC) - Ground Improvement Method (Video)
Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC) is an efficient ground improvement method for compacting granular soils to depths of up to approximately 7 m, depending on the soil conditions and project requirements.
The system consists of a suitable hydraulic excavator, a hydraulic impact hammer with 9-16 tons ram weight and a circular steel foot plate. Easy mobilisation, excellent manoeuvrability, controlled impact energy and well-documented compaction results make Rapid Impact Compaction an attractive alternative to conventional dynamic compaction. Typical applications include industrial developments, logistics centres, ports, airports, highways, railways, land reclamation and residential developments where improved bearing capacity and reduced settlement are required.
IMECO Austria supports contractors in selecting the most suitable ground improvement method and equipment for the specific project requirements.
